Filled with a non-toxic gel, the inner self-cooling mat will maintain its cooling properties for approximately 1 hour (depending on the environment). During this time, the mat is typically 5-10 degrees cooler than room temperature. To reset the mats cooling properties, a refrigerator or freezer is not necessary, but it is recommended to be left unused for 1 hour.
